You pay the same each month for however long the policy lasts, and the cover amount decreases
The cover amount decreases broadly in line with the amount you owe on a repayment mortgage. So, the idea is if you select an amount of cover that matches your outstanding loan, the pay out should be enough to cover what's owed

Here's what you get with our life insurance:

A tax free lump sum up to £750,000 if you die during the policy term. We only pay out once, and the policy ends after that. Note: A life insurance payout may come within your estate for inheritance tax purposes. Tax rules depend on your personal circumstances and may change in the future.
Cover from 1 to 50 years (up to age 90) - you choose, we're flexible.
An early payout is possible if you're diagnosed with a terminal illness which meets our definition before the last 12 months of the policy, and aren't expected to live longer than 12 months.
You can have cover for one or two people, such as you and your partner - we offer single and joint policies.

The policy has no cash-in value at any time.
If you stop paying your premiums, your cover will end.

Critical illness cover

For even more peace of mind, when you apply for a Quotemehappy.com Life Insurance Policy, you are also able to apply for a Quotemehappy.com Critical Illness Policy at the same time. You are not able to add a Critical Illness Policy at a later date. They're separate policies, so two pay outs are possible.

What's critical illness cover?

It's a way of preparing financially for the future if you get seriously ill. You'll get a lump-sum payment if you're diagnosed with, or undergo surgery for a specified critical illness. These are listed, along with definitions, in your policy. You can then use the money towards whatever you need to.

Here's what you get with our critical illness cover:

A tax-free lump sum payment

Cover available up to a maximum of £500,000.
We'll pay a claim if you meet our definition for one of the 33 critical illnesses covered during the policy term - we don't cover critical illnesses not defined in the policy or if you're diagnosed after the policy has ended.
We only pay out the main benefit once, and the policy ends after that.

You need to survive for 21 days after diagnosis or we won't pay out.
This policy won't pay out if you die - but if you have a joint policy it will continue for the other policyholder.
The policy has no cash-in value at any time.
If you stop paying your premiums, your cover will end.

Cover for 5 to 50 years (up to age 75) - you choose, we're flexible Cover for children included

If they're diagnosed with a critical illness, as defined in your policy, we'll pay up to £25,000, or 50% of the cover amount, whichever is lower. If we pay a claim for children's cover the policy will continue and you could still make a claim in the future.

A choice of level or decreasing cover - depending on what you want to cover

Level cover:

You pay the same each month, and the payout amount is fixed. You might want this to help cover things like bills, childcare costs, mortgage or rent payments, or any treatment costs.

Decreasing cover:

You pay the same each month, and the payout amount decreases, as it's meant to help cover things like repayment mortgages and long-term loans, where what you owe decreases over time.

Additional critical illness benefit

We give cover for two additional less serious critical illnesses at no extra cost. We'll pay up to £25,000, or 25% of the cover amount, whichever is lower. Take a look at the policy conditions below for more detail.
